O-I BJC GLASS X HCMUT
OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING THE GLASS AMBASSADOR CHALLENGE
O-I BJC Vietnam will officially partner with Bách Khoa Innovation 2025 in the University-Enterprise (U-I) category to launch the Glass Ambassador Challenge. The competition aims to seek unique ideas and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of glass recycling collection in Vietnam.
- Participants
- Startup groups (businesses with a business license from January 2020 onward).
- Students and alumni (graduated no more than 2 years at the time of registration).
- Graduated students from domestic and international universities.
- Our goals
- Seeking innovative, diverse, and unrestricted ideas and solutions in the form of applications, technology, systems, or process chains that enhance the efficiency of collecting used glass packaging.
- Aim to collect, sort & recycle about 100 tons of glass packaging per month, ~ 1,200 tons per year.

- Types of collected bottles: Collect all types of glass bottles that contain food and beverages from all brands, including broken glass
- Do not collect types of glass such as cups, plates, window glass, mirrors, or light bulbs,…

- Awards: Cash prizes
- First prize: 15,000,000 VND (Fifteen million dong)
- 1 Second prize: 10,000,000 VND (Ten million dong)
- 1 Third prize: 5,000,000 VND (Five million dong)
TOP 3 can receive an internship and project development investment from businesses in the post-competition phase.
- Support prize package:
The Top 5–7 teams advancing to Round 02 will be considered for financial support ranging from 1 million VND to 3 million VND per team to develop a prototype.
- Criteria
- Register in teams of 03 to 06 members.
- Each member cannot participate in more than 02 projects.
- The team leader is the official representative of the team and works with the Competition Organizing Committee (COC).
- During the competition, any changes of team members/team leader must be reported at least 2 weeks before the Final Round and require approval from the COC.
- The project content must not violate any applicable laws (such as Intellectual Property Law, Environmental Protection Law, etc.).
- Projects that have previously won third prize or higher in similar or higher-level competitions are not eligible for participation

- The project must demonstrate innovation in technology, methods, solutions, or approaches to enhance the efficiency of collecting glass packaging.
- Feasibility and practical effectiveness: The project addresses real-world business challenges and is feasible to implement in Vietnam
- Cost optimization: The project must be cost-effective, balancing investment costs and generated profits. (Detailed market exchange rate information will be provided to registered teams, giving them a comprehensive view of the industry)
- Teamwork: Team spirit, coordination, and task delegation
- Presentation: The way of presenting and pitching a project.

- Regulations on communication, prizes, and implementation within the framework of the competition.
- Communication
- The Organizing Committee has the right to use videos, images, and general information of the participating projects for the purpose of promoting the project and the competition (including publication, introduction, and communication on the competition’s media platforms, mass media, or promotional events related to the competition…)
- In cases where the finalist teams have members from two or more different entities, the teams are only allowed to communicate the name of the entity of the team leader and the name of the entity of the main mentor (if applicable).
- Prize
- After the competition ends, the prize (in VND or converted to USD) will be transferred by the Company to the personal account of the team representative receiving the award.
- Personal income tax incurred will be deducted before the prize is paid.
- The Organizing Committee does not interfere in the process of prize allocation among the competing teams.
- Competing teams may receive additional prizes from other sponsoring companies (if applicable).
- Implementation
- Before participating in the competition, teams must sign an agreement to comply with the competition’s regulations.
- Finalist teams are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with the Company.
