The Final round of “the 6th Bach Khoa Innovation 2023 Contest”’ took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) on the morning of July 9th, 2023, attracting a large number of competing teams and a variety of projects related to different fields ranging from health care, environmental protection, energy, cosmetics and so on to participate.
After more than 04 months since the official launch on March 4th, 2023, “the 6th Bach Khoa Innovation 2023 Contest” has received 60 startup projects, including 53 university and 07 high school projects. After two rounds of fierce competition between university teams, the jury selected 18 from 53 topics to continue to the next round. Here, the competing teams directly presented their projects, creating a basis for the jury to score and select the TOP 06 university and 03 high school teams to present their projects in the Final round.
Attending the Final round was Ms. Phan Thi Quy Truc – Deputy Head of the Department of Technology Management and Market from the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, there was also the presence of representatives of sponsors, particularly the diamond sponsor – Down Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Kim Phuong – General Director; the golden sponsor – FPT Software Academy Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Dinh Vu Quoc Trung – Director; Admission Committee of the University of Adelaide, Ms. Thao Pham; TECHK Company Limited, Mr. On Ho Hao – Deputy Director; Head of Kohi Vietnam Training Department, Mr. Sekiguchi Kazuhiro; the silver sponsor – Resident Representative of the University of Adelaide, Mr. Hugo Nguyen. On the other hand, HCMUT’s partner, Mr. Nguyen Duc Que – Sales Director of Intel Vietnam, and Mr. Le Long – Vice President of the Vietnam Business Association in Japan, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Danh Thao – Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), and managers of faculties and offices attended the Final round.
Giving his opening speech at the event, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Danh Thao affirmed that the “Bach khoa Innovation Contest” was one of the main activities in promoting international integration and improving the creativity and innovation of students and lecturers. The contest created many opportunities for students to learn, experience, and grow from business field trips and a series of workshops shared by domestic and foreign advisors.
The “Bach Khoa Innovation 2023 Contest” Final Round witnessed attractive and confident competition among the competing teams. The university and high school teams not only presented their projects fluently in English but also boldly debated with the Jury in the spirit of being ready to receive comments and suggestions to improve their projects.
To genuinely select the best teams, members of the Jury with extensive expertise such as Shark Le Dang Khoa, Mr. Masahito Yano-Senior Project Manager of Business Development at Mitsui Chemicals, Ms. Selena Le – Co-founder & CEO of Wsafe-Impact Venture Builder Co. Ltd., Mr. Dinis Descour-CEO of TOPAM Company; Mr. Michael Saram-Director of WinSolutions Co. Ltd, etc. continuously posed difficult questions, both challenging the teams and helping dissect problems so that the teams could see many different aspects when implementing a project. Besides, the teams also demonstrated quite good knowledge of business planning, project management, financial analysis, etc.

🥇The 1st prize was for the “Natural skin healing and insect repellent products from breadfruit flower” project by SAKARE from Tran Dai Nghia High School, Le Hong Phong High School, and the High School of the Gifted.
🥈The 2nd prize was for the “Book Exchange Machine” project by TOPAZ, from the High School of the Gifted and Le Quy Don High School.
🥉The 3rd prize was for the “ Produce pure nuciferin from lotus leaf” project by NAK, from Gia Dinh High School.
